IBSTPI Competency: Communicate effectively in visual, oral and written form.

I have chosen the H3TV marketing campaign as an example of my expertise in the area of effective communication. I chose this artifact because it demonstrates my abilities in visual and written communication. The H3TV Keep It Moving Campaign Presentation for Jake Zinn, VP is a pdf version of the powerpoint and pitch given as part of my Community Relations Practicum course. As part of the campaign preparation a market analysis and company analysis were also performed. This artifact demonstrates my fluency in business/formal writing. For me the most relevant aspect of this artifact was the presentation given to the company Vice President. The powerpoint is concise and provides highlights of the project, however without a recorded narrative I noticed it was difficult for someone to view the presentation on their own. This is similar to a powerpoint created by an instructor without the use of audio. This demonstrates a weakness in the presentation's future use.

Having analyzed the artifacts, I now realize that it is important to create presentations with both the current situation and future use in mind. Alternatively a presentation could be created in two formats for face to face or online sharing. This knowledge is essential to me as a practitioner as it has made me analyze the readers inability to fully understand the material without detailed notes or audio to explain what is being shown.
