Hi, I am Katrina Stansbury a graduate student at Avila University. Welcome to my ePortfolio site! I am currently working on my graduate certificate in Instructional Design and Technology. Throughout this program, this site will act as a showcase for my course and career work. I look forward to receiving feedback and suggestions. I am a self-starter with a versatile skill set. My experience is in customer service, training, and written and oral communication. I have received recognition in project management, organization and creative problem solving. I have successfully led trainings in mentoring and mediating between employees, and in leading team projects.

 

My current instructional design philosophy focuses on student led instruction. Instructors cannot tailor their teaching style to each individual student when in a large classroom setting. However, if the course is structured to encourage collaboration, student input and flexibility everyone will have the opportunity to be successful. Instructors must be willing to assess their current methodology and make adjustments in areas that are not effective. I believe that having an unbiased third party as part of the assessment process can generate new ideas that will benefit the current and future course.
